Evan is a New York-based writer, critic, and assistant editor of frieze. His work has appeared in such publications as Apollo, Art in America, Flash Art, GARAGE, The Miami Rail, PIN-UP, and San Francisco Arts Quarterly. He has lectured and participated in panel discussions at UCLA, the Hammer Museum, ICA Miami, Recess, and the International Center for Photography. Previously he served as Associate Editor for PARIS, LA, Contemporary Art Review Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Review of Books. A graduate of the Art History and Philosophy programs at UCLA, his senior thesis, “Rotimi Fani-Kayode’s Ecstatic Antibodies: Libidinal Politics, Race and Desire,” was published by Transition Magazine, a scholarly journal of Harvard University’s Hutchins Center. His fiction debuted in the Fall 2015 issue of Hello Mr, and he continues to write both short stories and freelance criticism from his home in Manhattan.
